Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Candidates must have experience teaching JAVA, Python, Computer Science and Programming.
• K-12 BCIT Certification Required. (If you have a Math or Science certification, we would be open to supporting you to add-on the BCIT certification.)
• Plan and prepare, through knowledge of content and pedagogy skills, the content to be learned. Ensure appropriate educational goals for students and monitor through appropriate assessments.
• Guide the learning process toward the achievement of established District curriculum goals, establishes and communicates clear objectives to the students for all lessons, units, and projects.
• Assess the accomplishments of students on a regular basis, provides progress reports as required, and communicates with parents as deemed necessary.
• Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by the law, District policy, and administrative regulation.
• Establish and maintain a purposeful and equitable environment for learning.
• Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity, interest, and abilities of students.
• Ensures the classroom and/or instructional environment is attractive, healthful, safe, and conducive to learning and that materials are in good condition and assessable to students.
• Develop a code of conduct for the classroom which is consistent with established administrative policies and develops rules of classroom behavior which are enforced in a fair and just manner.
• Engage students in learning by using a variety of instructional strategies.
• Utilizes a variety of instructional materials and available multimedia and computer technology to enhance learning.
• Provides age-appropriate communication with students on instructional expectations and keeps them informed of their progress in meeting those expectations.
• Manages allotted learning time to maximize student achievement.
• Attends established school-sponsored activities (i.e.: back-to-school night, open house) as scheduled by the building administrator.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Hatboro-Horsham High School is looking for a Business/Computer Science Teacher with the following requirements:

   

  • Candidates must have experience teaching JAVA, Python, Computer Science and Programming.
  • Experience with a Learning Management System is preferred.
  • Candidates must also have the willingness to share, support and explore with fellow educators in order to contribute to and sustain a collaborative, professional teaching and learning community.
  • The ability to create, facilitate, manage learning environments and student-teacher relationships in order to impact student achievement.
  • Project-based curriculum design experience.  Creates relevant and authentic learning experiences.
  • Passion for the subject and utilization of a wide range of resources.
  • Individuals should be experts in the field of coding and programming.
  • Candidates should excel at flexible and creative thinking.

Valid PA certification

License/Clearance(s):   Act 34 - Criminal History Clearance

                                      Act 151 - Child Abuse History Clearance

                                      Act 114 – Federal Criminal History Record
