This position has the potential for a contract but will start as a long term sub for the remainder of the 24-25 school year.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Plan and prepare, through knowledge of content and pedagogy skills, the content to be learned. Ensure appropriate educational goals for students and monitor through appropriate assessments.
  • Guide the learning process toward the achievement of established District curriculum goals, establishes and communicates clear objectives to the students for all lessons, units, and projects.
  • Assess the accomplishments of students on a regular basis, provides progress reports as required, and communicates with parents as deemed necessary.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by the law, District policy, and administrative regulation.
  • Establish and maintain a purposeful and equitable environment for learning.
  • Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity, interest, and abilities of students.
  • Ensures the classroom and/or instructional environment is attractive, healthful, safe, and conducive to learning and that materials are in good condition and assessable to students.
  • Develop a code of conduct for the classroom which is consistent with established administrative policies and develops rules of classroom behavior which are enforced in a fair and just manner.
  • Engage students in learning by using a variety of instructional strategies.
  • Utilizes a variety of instructional materials and available multimedia and computer technology to enhance learning.
  • Provides age-appropriate communication with students on instructional expectations and keeps them informed of their progress in meeting those expectations.
  • Manages allotted learning time to maximize student achievement.
  • Attends established school-sponsored activities (i.e.: back-to-school night, open house) as scheduled by the building administrator.

 

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Position Requires: Bachelor’s degree in Education and a Valid Pennsylvania K-12 Art teaching certificate. The candidate should be proficient in a variety of fine art mediums, including experience in Digital Photography and Media and Adobe Professional Creative Cloud.
  • Maintains an on-going program of professional growth that satisfies District/State requirements.
  • Participates in in-service and staff development activities and staff meetings as required or assigned.
  • Works in a self-contained, team, departmental, or itinerant capacity, as assigned.

 

Requirements: 

Valid PA certification

 

License/Clearance(s):   Act 34 - Criminal History Clearance

                                      Act 151 - Child Abuse History Clearance

                                      Act 114 – Federal Criminal History Record
