Please note that this is a contracted position.

 

Responsibilities include creating lesson plans, delivering direct instruction, and assessing student literacy. Additional duties such as assisting the general education teacher in planning lessons, providing instruction and assessing students in the general education environment may also occur, in addition to collaboration with professional and support staff, IEP development, completion of re-evaluations, and the facilitation of IEP team meetings. Communication with families, working with students on making progress towards IEP goals, and providing students with the supports and services as outlined in their Individualized Educational Program are essential to this role.  

 

Certification as a Reading Specialist and/or Wilson Reading System Level 1 and Level 2 is highly preferred. Secondary Special Education Certification: Special Education 7 -12 or Special Education K – 12 is required.

 

Compensation: Salary and benefits are set by the collective bargaining agreement for all contracted positions.
